Recently, I had the honor of receiving a personal invite by one Mr. H. Lee to attend a private tour at The Museum of Chinese in America (MoCA). The private tour with accompanied curator was for the Front Row – Chinese American Designers exhibit. How could a girl say no?!

Front Row traces and celebrates the rise of Chinese American designers who decided to make their marks in New York. In the 1980′s, designers such as Anna Sui, Yeohlee Teng, Vera Wang and Vivienne Tam emerged in the New York fashion scene just as the city was transforming its identity from garment center into one of the fashion capitals of the world.

Since then, a new generation of young designers, Derek Lam, Phillip Lim, Jason Wu and many others have gone on to build global enterprises alongside established figures in an international fashion world. This was just a few of the beautiful pieces.

Yes fashionistas, this is the dress Jason Wu designed for Michelle Obama to wear at the 2nd Inaugural Ball. She ended up wearing the white chiffon dress he designed instead.040031033032034065062This ticket is golden!052
