When you find a stunning piece, the problem isn’t whether to buy it or not…but more so how will I style it.

Case and point with this beautiful piece.

The photos nor the model did justice to this skirt online (no offense). The photos didn’t display just how rich the color was. As well, it was styled with a top that has ruffles and takes the eye away from what should be the focal point. A wide scale piece on top, paired with a voluminous bottom, not ideal (in my opinion). That is unless, you’re going for the traditional Mexican Fiesta dress look.

So, how do I style it? I ran a few different looks through my mind. All sweet, all cute. However when I stood in front of the mirror, the looks left me feeling less than enthused. Back to the closet, flicking through the hangers with intent and there she was, my strapless peplum. I really didn’t need to try it on, but I did, just for fun. Through my eyes, this was the only way to go.
