On the final evening of our holiday in Japan, I got little silly with a few pieces I purchased while visiting Senso-ji Temple.

At Senso-Ji Temple, once you enter the Kaminarimon or as it’s referred to, the “Thunder Gate”, you come upon Nakamise-dōri. This street is the footpath leading you directly to the temple. This street is flanked with small stores that have been there for centuries. Here you can find anything you may be looking for… and some things you didn’t realize you wanted. Much like myself.

No doubt the best day of our holiday in Japan, (at least for me) was the day we went to Kyoto.

Up at 5:30am, out of the hotel by 6am, on the 6:30am Bullet Train, speeds hitting 177 miles per hour, which meant we were able to reach our destination in 2hrs and 15min. Bamboo Grove, here we come.

Kyoto has many bamboo forests, but by far the most famous bamboo grove in Kyoto is in Sagano, near the famous Arashiyama region. The grove has a road that runs through it from Nonomiya Shrine to Okochi Cottage. Walking this path, one must stop, look up and take in the sun rays that come down through the foliage. If you close your eyes and allow your senses to be heightened, you can take in a light scent of bamboo.

Not paying attention to the time, we spent almost 3hrs in the grove. That being said, we almost lost daylight, but not before I was able to get in a photo shoot.

While in Tokyo, visiting one of the world’s largest and most famous diagonal crossings, (aka Pedestrian Scramble) was at the top of our list. This legendary scramble is just steps outside of Shibuya Station.

Shibuya Station is popular with tourist, such as myself. It’s also heavily used by commuters traveling between the center city and suburbs to the south and west. Transporting over three million passengers in just 2014.

On this particular day, we wanted to see Shibuya as a whole, but mainly the Harajuku district. As well, we wanted to venture to Asakusa to visit the Senso-ji Temple.

How does this all tie in to fashion you may be asking yourself. Well, because of the districts we were going to, I knew I could experiment, no no, I meant… have a little fun with my style. Basically go against what comes natural to me and wear all black and wear over-the-knee socks. I know, I’m super adventurous.

Pedestrain Scramble - Sean 1PS Me - Weird Looks 1There are so many points of interest in this photo. 1– The girl with the yellow/orange hair looking at me & pondering…. 2– Guy on the right side of the screen that looks like a cross between Johnny Depp & Pharrell Williams (long hair and a funky hat). 3– Is the guy all the way to the right auditioning for a Japanese Hip Hop video? Hmmm. Why am I questioning it, all 4 of us look pretty funny.
