Black Tie Hiking – As posted back on August 25th, we went up to Mohonk Mountain House, while there we hiked and went rock scrambling. Not only did I keep with tradition and used my Louis Vuitton backpack, I also tucked one of my black tie gowns in there.

This particular dress was purchased several years ago to attend my cousins black tie wedding. Rarely does it come out of the closet. However this year, it came out a few times.

Toward the end of the day, we stopped at Lilly Pond on Mohonk Mountain Preserve. On the backend of the mountain, the gravel trail descends in an S shape. Three quarters down the mountain, the trail becomes flat, the trees open up to wonderful clearly that perfectly showcases a small footbridge and Lilly Pond. Perfect spot to stop and do a photo shoot.

Once back on the Mohonk Mountain House property, I took advantage of the Greenhouse and Florist Garden. The garden is lush with many different floral patches and rich colors.

The Metropolitan Opera, Opening Night Gala will be on September 22nd. Fortunately for us, we’ll be attending this year. I was thinking of purchasing a new gown but why bother. This dress has been worn at max, three times (including on the hike). That being said, I think this dress will work just fine for the event.

When you think of summer, you don’t necessarily think of sweaters. However, if you spend a lot of time by the water, then you just might.

Seeing this sweater on the mannequin, I knew it had to go home with me. Through my eyes, this piece is reminiscent of spring sports and the varsity tennis sweaters from the 1920’s. Feminine with today’s trendy deep V-neck but with a hint of masculinity in its boxy/slouchy fit.

Though the sweater may look heavy and chunky, it’s anything but. The stitch or shall I say gauge that is used is larger than what we usually see, especially during the summer months. However, the yarn used is a thin cotton, which lends to being lite and airy.

Purchased back in March, I’ve worn this sweater plenty of times now. Come fall, I might just pair it with a crew neck tee or possibly polo shirt. Only time will tell…

Washington Mews, a private gated street in the Washington Square Park area of Manhattan, New York. In the 18th century, it was part of the Lenape trail that connected the Hudson River to the East River. On this street, rows of stables were housed, also known as mews (a British term).

The Mews is a highly coveted street. Not only do people wish to have residence here, fashion bloggers as well as bride & grooms shoot here on a regular basis. This block is gorgeous, you can imagine my excitement when my photographer suggested shooting here.
