So my last blog post was back on January 18th. It seems like not so long ago I was meeting up with my photographer on Saturday mornings, shooting two or three looks, eagerly awaiting for the photos to hit my inbox and then spending hours going through them to whittle 50 images down to 5.

Why did I stop? Well in the beginning of the year I had foot surgery. Finally my aggressive growth spurts as a child and many many years of classical ballet finally caught up with me. I had a combination of a heightened metatarsal bone as well as a metatarsal fracture on my left foot. The surgery went well but I was instructed to stay off my feet for 3 weeks. You would think laying on the couch all day would make me blog like a mad person but nope.

Have I missed the days of blogging? Not really. (I know, I know, what kind of blogger am I?) I have to say, I got my life back a little bit. My weekends, especially Sunday’s aren’t spent working on a post from sunrise to sunset. I can actually get out and go to brunch, attend a fun event, or simple just rest. It’s a beautiful thing.

Not only have I not posted looks, I haven’t looked at or commented on my favorite blogs either. Granted I loved it, that also consumed a lot of my time. Do I miss that? Yes I do. I really enjoy looking at other individuals styles. I always found that fun. Sometimes I would see a post and think, that style is so not me but she really rocks it. Other times, I fell in love with a look or simply felt inspired by it.

That all being said, I think I’m starting to get that fire back. Recently I’ve been more active on insta & twitter. I think what really put a flame under my bottom, my upcoming trip.

We leave this weekend to go on holiday and I’m very excited. Off to Sweden & Norway we good. 10 days of glorious fun. How could I miss taking photos of my daily looks while strolling the street of Gamla Stan or while traveling through the fjords of Norway. I think this was the kick in the pants that I needed.

A big thank you to my fellow bloggers who never stopped visiting my blog & those you continued to comment. Yes, I can see who comes to my page, what country they are from, through what source whether it be another fashion page, search terms or goggle image. (Having status transparency on my blog, worth every penny). I’d like to give a big hug and say thank you to Mojisola at Mojintocuh.com for private messaging me not once but twice to see how I was doing. Kisses!

*I will be posting soon*

The rebirth of Burberry. Do you have pieces that you put in to retirement? I most certainly do and this scarf is the perfect example of that.

If you’re a Burberry fan and have been so for some time, you recognize this scarf. It must be 6-8yrs old by now. When the plaid Burberry scarf first became popular (mainstream popular), I received the classic camel color as one of my birthday gifts from mom. I lived in that scarf. About 10 months later I purchased myself the same scarf but in soft pink.

By the next winter season, this trend had exploded so much I couldn’t look at the scarf anymore. Did I think about tossing both pieces? Most certainly. Did I actually do it? No way. I simply folded them up and put them on the bottom of the scarf pile. They had a nice long rest but have come back out to play now.

After spotting a pair of Gucci leather studded gloves at Saks Fifth Avenue one evening, I had the DIY itch.

It’s rare that I wear a helmet when biking around the city, but if I do, I do it in a monogrammed helmet.

So yes, I’m behind in keeping up with today’s trends….. oh nooo. As well, I’m a month or so behind in posting the different shoots I’ve done. Please don’t stone me, or should I say, throw fashion magazines at me.

When it comes to trends, I try my best not to hop on every one that hits the editorial pages, but I finally got on-board with this one.

It’s clear to see, I waited well over a year before I decided to wear the long vest. I wasn’t sure how much use I would get out of it. I was also concerned with the length. Would it be long enough on me? Should I go for the cocoon shape or a more tailored fit? Because I was on the fence, I was in no rush to find one.

I didn’t set out to purchase this vest but when I saw it on the mannequin, I slowed my stride down to get a better look. As quickly as slowed down, I sped back up and on I went in search of a dress. I left the store without purchasing the vest but for the next two days, I found myself mentally flashing back to it. That meant one thing and one thing only, go back and purchase it…. so I did. Fortunate for me, within those few days it had gone on sale.
